Nigel Goss is based in the UK, is English with a Welsh father. He has BA in Fine Art (sculpture) from Gloucestershire College of Art and Design and a Postgraduate Certificate in Art Education from the University of London (Goldsmiths). He has a Supplementary Certificate in Music Education and MA in Music from the University of York. He spent 35 years in education teaching art and music in Greater Manchester Schools and in East Sussex before retiring. He moved to Seaford in 2011 and built an art studio and a music studio in his garden. He works with around 20 high calibre musicians performing live folk rock, jazz and contemporary crossover music in two bands. For twelve years he ran a choir for senior citizens in Seaford. He composes for and plays in a U3A recorder group. He plays keyboards for Maestro Jazz Orchestra, Newhaven. He directed many devised theatre productions in schools using all the art forms. His interest in art is in creating pictures and objects using symbols; referencing Egyptian, Native American, Australian Aboriginal, African, Celtic and Mexican art forms as he works to develop his visual language using symbols. He is a member of Last Minute Artists Seaford and has exhibited with them often.
